  • Google's new AI search tools, touted to “do the work for you,” are already facing backlash for providing factually incorrect results. Launched earlier this month, the AI-generated search results overview tool aims to summarize search results for quicker answers. However, inaccuracies have surfaced, prompting Google to walk back some of its AI outputs. Users on X highlighted several errors, including a summary falsely claiming former President Barack Obama is a Muslim and another stating that none of Africa’s 54 countries start with 'K,' ignoring Kenya.   • OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and his husband, Oliver Mulherin, have joined the ranks of billionaires committed to philanthropy by signing the Giving Pledge, a campaign encouraging the ultra-rich to donate at least half of their wealth to charitable causes.
