  • Neuralink is looking for a second participant for its brain implant trials, following the first implantation in Noland Arbaugh, a quadriplegic, five months ago. Despite initial performance issues, the implant has allowed Arbaugh to control a computer cursor with his brain. The trials aim to connect human brains to computers to help paralyzed individuals control devices. Neuralink is seeking participants with limited hand use due to spinal cord injury or ALS. Read more

  • Microsoft's Build developer conference begins Tuesday, spotlighting the company's latest AI innovations. CEO Satya Nadella has declared 2024 the year AI becomes integral to every PC, leveraging Microsoft's vast Windows userbase. Currently, Microsoft offers its Copilot AI assistant in Bing and Office. The conference will reveal how AI will be embedded in Windows and new AI PCs. This follows Google's unveiling of its Gemini AI and OpenAI's launch of GPT-4o, with Microsoft being a major investor in OpenAI. Read more

  • Blue Origin successfully resumed crewed flights with its NS-25 mission, the first in nearly two years. The mission took six tourists, including artist and former Air Force Captain Ed Dwight, to the edge of space. The New Shepard rocket safely returned, marking its 25th mission and the seventh with humans, bringing Blue Origin's total human passengers to 37. Read more

  • Chinese electric vehicle maker Xpeng, plans to deliver its flying car to customers by 2026, according to co-president Brian Gu. The Land Aircraft Carrier, introduced last year, features a large truck with a detachable two-seater passenger drone. Pre-orders for the flying car will start this year, with deliveries expected in 2026, slightly later than the initial 2025 target. Designed for use in scenic outskirts, Xpeng plans to collaborate with municipalities to create flying parks and zones, bypassing complex urban approvals. Read more
